Mysost is a Norwegian cheese made from caramelized cow's milk whey, often the whey left over after making traditional curd cheese. It was popularized back in the 1800's and helped bring a region out of recession! (A town named Gudbrandsdalen).
The taste is tangy - savory; some say it tastes like vegemite. Some say it has after taste of black caviar. Get a taste of Norway through Mysost! it is good on sea water crackers, sourdough bread, on a crispbread topped with strawberry jam, or even with waffles together with your morning coffee. You may even use as a dip for green apple or pear.
