Pistachio, the green gold is definitely one of the sweetest memory we had in Italy. This time, we blended it in Asiago.
Asiago cheese is from Italy located in northern Veneto. It is a traditional, farmhouse and creamery, unpasteurized, hard cheese that has a flavor reminiscent to Parmesan but is a bit nuttier and creamier.
The aged cheese is often grated into salads, soups, pastas, and sauces while the fresh Asiago cheese is sliced to prepare panini or sandwiches.
It can also be melted on a variety of dishes.
It is a brilliant cheese to bake into bread for a cheesy treat or grate over soft pretzels before baking.
